TRANS MOVIES
A list of movies made by or about trans people. This does not include movies that are about the death of a trans person (Boys Don’t Cry), depict trans people as serial killers (The Silence of the Lambs), or feature a “surprise reveal” of a trans person’s identity (The Crying Game). Some of the movies listed may not explicitly define their characters as trans, but if the character reads as trans we have included them along with comments outlining why the movie was included. Comments are also included for movies that feature violence against trans people as well.
TRANS BOOKS
A list of books by or about trans people. As with the movie list above, this list does not include books that treat being trans as a tragedy or a joke.
